74 Other provisions in the Regulations

The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 include measures aimed at preventing so called ‘inertia selling’, which exempt the consumer from providing any consideration for the unsolicited supply of goods or services1.

The rights conferred on a consumer by the Regulations cannot be waived2. If the contract has a close connection with the territory of a European Union member state, then this applies notwithstanding any contract term which applies or purports to apply the law of a non-member state3.
