2: DISTANCE SELLING REGULATIONS

(a) General

69 Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000

The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 implemented into United Kingdom law Council Directive (EC) 97/7 on the protection of consumers in respect of distance contracts. Subject to certain exceptions1, the 2000 Regulations apply to all consumer contracts where the supplier and the consumer do not meet face to face2.

The Regulations provide an indicative list of the means of distance communication to which they apply3. The list includes such common means of communication as printed matter, both addressed and unaddressed
