27 Trade descriptions

27.1 Offences

Under the Trade Descriptions Act 1968 it is an offence for any person, in the course of a trade or business, to apply a false trade description to goods, or to supply or to offer to supply goods to which a false trade description is applied1. A ‘trade description’ is defined as an indication, direct or indirect, and by whatever means given, of a number of defined matters with respect to any goods.
