15.4 Cinema Advertising Association

All advertisements for cinema exhibition must be approved by the copy panel of the Cinema Advertising Association (‘CAA’)1. Where advertisements are rejected, advertisers or their agencies may refer the matter to the CAA’s appeal panel. Every cinema commercial must also be submitted for film classification, which is carried out by the British Board of Film Classification, unless it was previously transmitted on terrestrial or satellite television; is less than 28 video seconds in duration; and does not advertise alcohol2.
