15.1 Non-broadcast advertising

Although the Committee of Advertising Practice (‘CAP’) offers a free copy advice service to non-broadcast advertisers, the use of this service is not compulsory and clearance from the CAP’s Copy Advice Team does not guarantee that the Advertising Standards Authority (‘ASA’) will not uphold a complaint about the advertisement1.

Furthermore, certain non-broadcast media have general pre-vetting requirements2 and the ASA and the CAP can impose a pre-vetting requirement on those who persistently breach provisions of the CAP Code3.
