Advertising agencies may enter into a wide range of different agreements for the production of advertisements. Where the agency is sub-contracting creative work to a third party, the agreement should normally address the question of ownership of copyright1.

Production companies retained in the United Kingdom for production of a television and/or cinema commercial are almost invariably retained on a standard form of agreement2.
