The Insolvency Service publishes their annual report and accounts for 2013/14

The Insolvency Service published it's Annual Report this month for 2013-2014.

Annual report

The report highlights a number of key achievements, including:

1,273 director disqualifications, with a six year average length of disqualification undertakings and orders, representing a 23% increase in disqualifications compared to 2012/2013

winding up 168 companies in the public interest following investigations by the agency

processing 75,387 redundancy claims

dealing with 23,569 new bankruptcies and 3,738 new insolvent companies

making 596 criminal referrals to prosecuting authorities

170 defendants successfully prosecuted during the year, resulting from referrals made by the agency, with custodial sentences received in 68% of cases

The report also highlights the Insolvency Service's performance against a number of government-set targets. These include:

96% of customers very satisfied or satisfied with the service they received, against a target of 90%

69% stakeholder confidence in the Insolvency Service's enforcement regime, against a target of 66%
