Great success! Aspire networking and professional development event for in-house lawyersThe LexisNexis Aspire networking group met on Wednesday 29 April in London. Once again the event was a huge success and was well attended by a fantastic group of inspiring, informed and up and coming junior in-house lawyers from a wide range of industries. The afternoon kicked off with Sophie Gould introductory ice-breaker discussion around “what is a typical in-house lawyer" and flowed into a talk by Emma Wilson on being a “Legal business person” and a talk by Ben Stavely on “Contract drafting”. Both speakers are ex-city lawyers who gave interesting and informative insights to the attendees in a relaxed and  informal environment. The session ended with drinks and networking which gave everyone a chance to chat ,share and network. The group meets 4/5 times a year in London. The next session will be on 15 July 2015.

Here’s what attendees had to say:

Very useful to attend. Sessions like today are rare for in-housers and very good!

Really liked meeting similar people who also work in-house. I don’t know many in-house counsel. Very relaxed atmosphere and everyone really friendly. Liked motivational speaker.

This event was very insightful. I managed to pick up some useful tips which I think will benefit me in my role. The was well organised and I would definatelly be interested in attending an Aspire event in the future.
