Cost and resource aren't the only challenges facing in-house teams. There is a growing awareness of the importance of ensuring the well-being of lawyers. Indeed, Paul Gilbert, chief executive of LBC Wise Counsel, describes mental health as the greatest challenge facing in-house teams today.
To look at the issues, we are holding a roundtable session next week for our In-house Advisory Board, Chief Legal Officers and KM and L&D forums. It will focus on the question: What are you and your organisation doing about well-being?
Led by Richard Martin of Byrne Dean, we will discuss what practical resources and approaches could be introduced to improve the positive well-being of in-house lawyers. The aim is to encourage organisations and managers to put training in place and create supportive workplace cultures where employees feel comfortable talking about mental health.
If you are starting to think about the well-being of your team or want to improve your current approach, then keep an eye on the blog. We will be posting a full report from the roundtable session with practical tips and invaluable advice to help you put this important area on your organisation's agenda.
