Upcoming Aspire training and networking event for junior in-house lawyers

Join us on Wednesday 20th April for the next LexisNexis Aspire event with more fantastic sessions for junior in-house lawyers to help develop and build their commercial and legal skills.

The Aspire network

Aspire is a free networking and professional development group for in-housers in the early stages of their legal career. We are passionate about supporting each other to succeed and aim to provide a forum to share experiences and ideas and sharpen our legal and commercial skills.

This group allows trainees, paralegals and newly qualified lawyers to:

  • Receive focused, highly relevant training filtered through LexisNexis expertise that help meet SRA requirements
  • Learn crucial soft skills to help them succeed as in-house lawyers
  • Gain insight and best practice guidance from external speakers
  • Build a network of in-house peers to share ideas and experiences with.

Please visit our Aspire page for more information about the group.

The Aspire event will take place on April 20th 2016 at 3pm at LexisNexis, Lexis House, 30 Farringdon Street, London, EC4A 4HH

In this session, the Data Protection team at Bird & Bird will share their knowledge gained through extensive experience and discuss the recent developments in the sharing of data internationally and the changing European Data Protection framework. Professional consultants, Catrin Guynan and Julie Greenwood will run a practical and interactive training session aimed at junior in-house lawyers to bolster their speaking and presentation skills and Emma Wilson, specialist consultant and trainer, will deliver soft skills training to assist junior in-house lawyers to develop effective delegation skills.

We are running a drinks and networking session afterwards so that you can network with other Aspire members and the speakers.

Here’s what members had to say:

  • “Sharing best practice and discussing challenges with others at the same stage of their career has been invaluable.”
  • “Aspire is a great programme for in-house legal trainees, providing not only helpful training but also an instant network for in-house trainees who do not benefit from the grand scale trainee networks that a law firm would provide. Our legal trainee thoroughly enjoys the sessions and finds meeting other in-house trainees really helpful and fun.” Maaike de Bie, Acting General Counsel, Royal Mail plc
  • “Many thanks for the continued materials being provided by yourself and Lexis Nexis, I have found them to be very useful.”
