Brexit and international personal data transfers

The Data Protection Intelligence Group has released a paper on Brexit and international personal data transfers: Practical approaches for the private sector in a time of uncertainty.

The paper explores how potential new international transfer of personal data restrictions (between the UK and EEA) may apply in a variety of worked examples, in the event of different Brexit outcomes. It also outlines, with practical examples steps businesses may want to take to continue personal data transfers.

The Data Protection Intelligence Group, is a forum focused on developing practical guidance regarding best practice in data protection areas relevant to commercial transactions. Its members include leading Information Law experts from CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang, Herbert Smith Freehills, Hogan Lovells, Mishcon de Reya, Shoosmiths and White & Case.
