New CJC working group to deal with impact of Jackson reforms

The Civil Justice Council has established a new working group to advise on issues arising from the Jackson reforms.

This working group has been established for the following purposes:

  • to advise the CJC about issues arising from the Jackson reforms (although not in relation to damages-based agreements)

  • to investigate and report back on:

    • transitional questions relating to conditional fee agreement cases due to changes in the client's or lawyer's status, or basis of instruction, post-commencement
    • extending QOCS to other categories of case
  • to consider other relevant topics

  • to make 'proposals for improvement designed to smooth the process of implementation and to facilitate access to justice'

For more information and a list of the members of the new working group see the CJC website.
