Visas extended for frontline health and care workers amid coronavirus (COVID-19)

The Home Office and the Department of Health and Social Care have announced that approximately 14,000 frontline health and care workers, as well as their dependents, are to be granted free one-year visa extensions for visas that were due to expire before 1 October 2021 during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. According to the government, this will allow such workers to ‘continue their crucial work in the fight against coronavirus’. Those workers to benefit from the extension will be required to fill out an online form to verify their identity.
