Treasury Committee seeks answer from Chancellor on procurement amid coronavirus (COVID-19)

The Chair of the Treasury Committee, Mel Stride, has written to the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rishi Sunak, concerning the National Audit Office’s (NAO) report on its investigation into government procurement during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Stride questioned whether all government procurements carried out during the pandemic followed standard procedure and if HM Treasury is considering changes to the procedures following the publication of the report.

The Chair of the Treasury Committee has requested that the Chancellor respond by 4 December 2020.
