Sustainable development stakeholders urge PM to consider SDGs after coronavirus (COVID-19)

A group of UK Stakeholders for Sustainable Development and members of the United Nations (UN) Global Compact Network UK have written a letter to the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, urging him to consider the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in its plans for coronavirus (COVID-19) recovery. In particular, it recommends that the government use the SDGs to unite all sectors behind a plan to build a stronger and more resilient economy, to prioritise the most vulnerable in our society and level-up regional and societal inequalities and to build coherent policies for a healthy planet and to aid the transition to net zero.

Signatories of the letter include Clifford Chance, DWF, DLA Piper UK and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP.
