Report details mental health service requirements following coronavirus (COVID-19)

NHS Reset has published a report detailing the requirements of mental health services to prepare for the expected increase in demand and explaining how the health and care system can ‘reset the way care and support are planned and delivered’ following coronavirus (COVID-19). NHS Reset is an NHS Confederation Campaign, which aims to determine what the health and care system should look like following the pandemic. The report recommends that urgent work be carried out to improve understanding of the expected demand, Public Health England performs an enhanced approach to suicide prevention, there is increased financial support and recognition for third sector organisations supporting the NHS, and funding levels be reviewed in reflection of the new normal and adjusted where necessary to meet the higher levels of demand.

The report can be viewed here.
