New enforcement guidance shared with CEAA amid new coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions in England

The Lord Chancellor, Robert Buckland QC, has provided the Certificated Enforcement Agents Association with guidance regarding taking control of goods amid the national restrictions in England due to the coronavirus (COVID-19). The Lord Chancellor has requested CEAA members to respect the government guidance for enforcement agents and to refrain from entering residential properties for the purpose of enforcement by taking control of goods. The guidance also mentions that this approach is kept under review so that ‘it remains responsive and proportionate’.
