MOJ says action has been taken to limit coronavirus (COVID-19) in prisons

The Ministry of Justice (MOJ) has announced that quick and decisive action has been taken to reduce the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) in prisons. The MOJ said to help save lives and protect the NHS, measures including routinely testing staff and new prisoners and the roll-out of the vaccine in line with the priority list set out by the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation have been introduced. This is in addition to stringent safety measures which have already been in place, such as making more Personal Protective Equipment available to staff, creating an additional 1,200 temporary cells and temporarily stopping visits for adult prisoners in England and Wales.
