The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has urged the government to provide Transport for London (TfL) with a new long-term transport funding settlement in an effort to support economic recovery amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. According to Khan, TfL currently supports approximately 4,000 firms across the UK. Before the coronavirus pandemic, TfL would usually bring in revenues of around £13m a day. However, due to current levels of ridership amid the pandemic, it is currently bringing in approximately £5.2m per day.
