India to be added to England’s coronavirus (COVID-19) red list

The Department for Transport has announced that India will be added to England’s red list as of 4 am on 23 April 2021 in an effort to protect the UK from new coronavirus (COVID-19) variants. As a result, international visitors to the England who have departed from, or transited through, India in the previous ten days will be refused entry into England. British and Irish citizens, as well as those with UK residence rights (including those with long-term visas), will be allowed to enter. However, they will be required to stay in a government-approved quarantine facility for ten days.
