Government urges universities to hold places amid coronavirus (COVID-19)

The Minister of State for Universities at the Department of Education, Michelle Donelan MP, has written to all vice-chancellors requesting for them to hold places for students appealing their A level grades until they receive the outcome of the appeal. In the letter, the Universities Minister also confirmed the government will exempt certain students who successfully go through the appeals process from 'counting towards student number controls held by individual institutions'. This exception will apply to those whose grades are successfully appealed to ensure they are able to progress onto their chosen route.
