Government dedicates £5.4m to legal advice sector during coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic

The Ministry of Justice has announced that individuals seeking help with housing, debt, discrimination and employment issues will benefit from a £5.4m contribution from the government, aiming to support the legal advice sectors during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The money will be distributed to those most in need through not for profit organisations and law centres across England and Wales. The funding aims to help organisations provide legal advice, increase capacity and deliver services remotely, as the number of individuals seeking advice for social welfare cases is on the rise due to the pandemic.
