Family Division President issues guidance on submitting appeals during coronavirus (COVID-19)

The President of the Family Division, Sir Andrew McFarlane, has stated that all appeals to the Family Division must be submitted via email during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The subject line of the email should read ‘APPEAL TO HIGH COURT: NEW APPEAL’ if the appeal is urgent, the word urgent needs to be added to the subject line. All appellants need to submit Form EX160B to enable the Fees Office to process fees when the office re-opens, McFarlane also stated that ‘it is accepted that appeals may be issued and it will not be possible to pay the fee within the five days specified on EX160B’. Any documents in support of an appeal should be supplied in a digital format, PDF or word are preferred.

Appeals should be emailed to appeals.familydivision@Justice.gov.uk.
