EMA recommends authorisation for coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine Moderna in the EU

The European Medicine Agency (EMA) is recommending granting a conditional marketing authorisation for coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine Moderna to prevent coronavirus in people from 18 years of age. The EMA has assessed the data on the quality and safety of the vaccine and declared that the vaccine meets the EU standards. A successful trial was concluded on 30,000 participants, where half were given the true vaccine and the other half a dummy vaccine.
