DHSC widens coronavirus (COVID-19) testing to workplaces of over 50 employees

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has announced that it has widened the criteria for workplace testing for asymptomatic individuals in sectors open during lockdown in an effort to better detect coronavirus (COVID-19). Businesses with more than 50 employees, reduced from 250 employees, will now be able to make use of workplace testing.

Announcing the change, Business Secretary, Kwasi Kwarteng, urged employers to sign up to the programme. He continued: ‘We want to be able to reopen the economy and recover our way of life as soon as it is safe to do so, and large-scale workplace testing will complement our work in getting the British people vaccinated.'
