DHSC updates guidance on coronavirus (COVID-19) testing for international arrivals

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has updated its guidance on how to quarantine on arrival in England. The update covers coronavirus (COVID-19) testing that individuals arriving in the UK must undertake. Individuals will need to have a coronavirus test on or before the second day of their quarantine period, in their accommodation. If the test results is negative individuals will also need to take a test on or after day eight of their quarantine period.

If either test results positive, the individual and their household must quarantine for ten days.

The test to release scheme still applies for individuals who have not arrived from, or transited through, countries on the travel ban ‘red list’ in the previous ten days.
