DHSC reports 48,000 businesses signed up to workplace testing for coronavirus (COVID-19)

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has announced that 48,000 businesses have thus far registered their interest to the workplace coronavirus (COVID-19) testing programme. Through this initiative, businesses in England will be provided with free rapid lateral flow tests for their employees until the end of June 2021. Businesses have until 31 March 2021 to sign up to the workplace testing scheme.

The Health and Social Care Secretary, Matt Hancock, has commented on the number of businesses which have already registered to the testing programme: ‘This is a huge step forward in getting businesses back on their feet and helping to keep people safe. With around 1 in 3 people not having symptoms, regular testing is essential to bearing down on the virus and identify new variants of concern as we work towards restoring normal life.'
