DfE publishes guidance for children during coronavirus (COVID-19)

The Department for Education (DfE) has published updated guidance regarding coronavirus (COVID-19) for local authorities and partners to support and protect vulnerable children, actions for early years and childcare providers and how to get laptops and tablets for children that cannot attend school. The updates reflect national restriction guidance, including school attendance, alternative provision, risk assessments, respite care and Ofsted inspections. The DfE is providing laptops and tablets to schools in order to assist children and families with access to remote education and will help disadvantaged children that need an internet connection to get internet access. It will also contact schools, colleges, trusts and local authorities during the spring term 2021, when they are able to order these devices.
