Coronavirus (COVID-19)—Welsh Government considers operation of schools

The Welsh Government has published a written statement by the Education Minister, Jeremy Miles, on the operation of Welsh schools and colleges in September 2021 to keep settings safe during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The statement considers how normality will be brought back to education, for example, face coverings will no longer be recommended in classrooms and contact groups will no longer be required for school pupils or full-time learners in colleges. According to the Welsh Government, the Local COVID-19 Infection Control Decision Framework will be published at the start of the autumn term in 2021 to allow schools to have sufficient time to embed new systems.
