Coronavirus (COVID-19)—visiting care homes during Christmas in Wales

The Welsh Government has published the Deputy Minister for Health and Social Services, Julie Morgan's, statement urging people with close family residing in care homes to discuss with the care home provider on how visitation over the Christmas period will be organised. At present, public health advice states that care home residents spending indoor visits and overnight stays with their families increases the risk of infection with coronavirus (COVID-19). The government asks that visits out of the care home during the five-day Christmas period (between 23–27 December 2020) should be subject to a dynamic risk evaluation by all parties involved. Care home residents must self-isolate for 14 days upon their return to care homes.
