Coronavirus (COVID-19)—UK to convene first ever Global Vaccine Confidence Summit

The Cabinet Office has announced that the UK will host a Global Vaccine Confidence Summit, with the hope of increasing public confidence in, and uptake of, the coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine. The Summit, which is the first of its kind, is due to be held on 2 June 2021 and will see experts from the public and private sector examine ways of tackling the spread of misinformation. The Health Secretary, Matt Hancock, and the Founding Director of the Vaccine Confidence Project at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Professor Heidi Larson, are confirmed speakers, with additional international speakers to be announced prior to the event.
