Coronavirus (COVID-19)—Prime Minister confirms shops and pubs to reopen from 12 April

In a public statement on 5 April 2021, the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, announced that from 12 April 2021 phased relaxation of coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions will continue, with the reopening of shops, gyms, holiday campsites, personal care services and outdoor hospitality of all kinds. The minister urged the public to continue to follow regulations and to receive their vaccination when they are offered one.

The government has also published a roadmap on its thinking in relation to the return of major events, social distancing, the potential role of vaccine passports and the resumption of international travel.
