Coronavirus (COVID-19)—Committee to look at impact of remote learning on children

Parliament has announced that its coronavirus (COVID-19) Committee is to analyse the potential long-term effects on children of digital learning, as necessitated by the coronavirus pandemic. The Committee will hear evidence from several people at 10.00 am on 9 February 2021, including the Chief Executive of the Education Policy Institute, Natalie Perera, and the Chief Executive of the Sutton Trust, James Turner.

The Committee will hear evidence about topics including:

• what future support children will require

• how lack of internet connection or a suitable device has seriously disadvantaged some children

• how digital learning might be used more in future
