Coronavirus (COVID-19)—WIPO excuses Hague users from failing to meet time limits

The World Intellectual Property Organization has confirmed that users of the Hague System for the international registration of industrial designs will be excused from having to comply with certain requirements. This measure has been introduced in recognition of the challenges brought about by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Hague applicants, holders of international registrations and intellectual property offices will be excused from failing to meet a time limit for the following: the transmission of a communication, submission of information to correct an irregularity, and payment of fees, including renewal fees, to the International Bureau. In addition, the submission of evidence concerning coronavirus-related issues will not be required. These measures do not cover payment of the second part of the individual designation fee.

Further information of these measures can be found here.
