Coronavirus (COVID-19)—HM Land Registry updates evidence of identity guidance

HM Land Registry has updated its evidence of identity requirements guidance relating to providing confirmation of identity during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. As well as minor amendments to the guide such as changing the heading of section two, the update includes changes to the evidence of identify forms referred to in the guide, specifically forms ID1 (verify identity: citizen), ID2 (verify identity: corporate body) and ID5 (certificate to be given by a conveyancer where a person's identity has been verified by way of an online video call) in relation to the verification by way of a video call. Additionally, ID3 (certificate of identity for a private individual), ID4 (certificate of identity for a body corporate), and evidence of identity: conveyancers (PG67) have been updated as a result of customer feedback.
