Coronavirus (COVID-19)—guidance on transport to school published

The Department for Education has published guidance that details what local authorities in England will need to do from the start of the autumn term during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The guidance has two parts. Part A explains how local authorities should manage the capacity and demand for public transport so that children can travel safely to and from school when the autumn term starts. Part B explains the measures that should be taken by local authorities to reduce the risk of spreading coronavirus on dedicated home to school transport. The guidance also states that local authorities remain under a statutory duty to provide free home to school transport.
