Comprehensive guidance published for adult social care workers amid coronavirus (COVID-19)

The Department of Health and Social Care has published comprehensive information for adult social care providers on coronavirus (COVID-19) guidance and support. The guidance pulls together information on a wide range of issues including how to prevent, control and protect care workers from coronavirus, how to deal with a suspected outbreak of coronavirus, how to report a coronavirus outbreak and manage staff during such outbreak, how to care for patients who have been discharged from hospital or other social care facilities and how to test care workers and people in care homes. It also covers developments that have resulted from coronavirus such as easements of the Care Act 2014 and a coronavirus ethical framework. In addition, it provides a number of useful links to other government issued guidelines and a PPE portal for ordering protective clothing and other related supplies.
