CJT guidance on taking prisoners to court amid coronavirus (COVID-19)

The Courts and Tribunals Judiciary (CTJ) has published a guidance note outlining that the Prison Escort Custody Service should not be routinely moving any prisoner to court that has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19), has been identified as been in contact with someone that has tested positive for it or is presenting symptoms of it. Instead, the prisoner should be deemed unfit for travel and alternative arrangements should be made. This guidance is complementary to guidance already issued by HM Prison and Probation Services and is in accordance with guidance from HM Courts and Tribunals service.
