Cabinet Office publishes coronavirus (COVID-19) Christmas guidance

The Cabinet Office has published guidance for the public for the Christmas period with a view to mitigating the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). The guidance covers visiting friends and family, taking part in events, going to places of work or study, travel within the UK and more. The guidance states that from 2—23 December 2020 and after 28 December 2020, individuals must follow the guidance for their local tier. From 23—27 December 2020, households may form a Christmas bubble with another two households.

The guidance also clarifies that a Christmas bubble will be able to meet in private homes, attend places of worship, or meet in a public outdoor place. Aside from these settings, people should follow local tier restrictions.
