Administrators urged to protect vulnerable customers during coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis

Chair of the Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee, Rachel Reeves, has written to the administrators of Caversham Finance Ltd, Grant Thornton, to ensure vulnerable customers are protected throughout the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, following the collapse of ‘rent-to-own’ business BrightHouse. Reeves has urged administrators to rule out using bailiffs to seize goods during the coronavirus pandemic and to fairly deal with customers in arrears or default. Customers should also be made aware of the vital support services available, such as through Citizens Advice.
