The Hampton-Alexander Review published its annual report on 13 November addressing the progress made so far against its deadline which aims to see 33% of women in leadership positions by December 2020.
With the proposed deadline fast approaching, the review notes 2019 has been the ‘Strongest year of progress since targets were first set in 2011’ for women on boards. However, the review also notes that 2/3rds of available senior roles are still going to men, and unless women start accounting for 50% of appointments, the 33% target which has been extended to women in leadership positions, will not be met.
