Introducing the Lexis®PSL sustainable business toolkit– a new hub for guidance

Sustainability is becoming an increasingly important part of the corporate agenda and businesses in all sectors are coming under pressure to employ responsible operational and strategic practices — particularly in light of climate change targets and evidence on the importance of natural capital value.

Green recovery themes flowing from the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic mean that calls to transform the way business is done have been further amplified. Many businesses will be turning to their legal advisors – both in-house and external – for support.

For practitioners advising businesses on this dynamic area, it can be difficult to know where to look for guidance, as this pervasive theme crosses borders, corporate departments and legal topics. Sustainability issues are diverse, ranging for example from the environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria affecting investment decisions or pensions, to mandatory corporate reporting on energy consumption, or to supply chain sustainability issues.

At Lexis®PSL we have created a sustainable business toolkit to draw together practical guidance on the many sustainable business issues into a single hub, to help practitioners navigate this extensive area. Using this content, practitioners will be able to advise businesses on what sustainability means for their undertaking, help them to identify what they should be doing and why it is important, and explain how they can maximise opportunities and minimise risks.

Content in the toolkit covers:

  • Competition
  • Energy efficiency – buildings
  • Energy efficiency – undertakings
  • Human rights
  • Reporting and disclosure
  • Supply chain management
  • Sustainable finance – ESG
  • Sustainable finance – products
