LexisNexis to Offer Expertise at Online Information 2009

London, 23 November, 2009 – At the Online Information conference and exhibition (1-3 December 2009) LexisNexis, the information and business solutions provider, will be fielding three expert speakers, commencing an industry research programme and showcasing its range of business intelligence tools including a new product, Supply Risk Monitor.

Three experts from LexisNexis will be speaking at the conference:

Firstly, Bob De Laney, Director of News and Business, will be discussing the evolving role of the information professional in “Empowering Information and the Information Professional”.

Secondly, Marketing Manager, Laura Vosper will be leading a session on “The importance of monitoring and managing your online reputation” with a case study example from Peugeot.  With social media increasingly impacting the reputation of corporate brands there is a growing need to monitor and analyse the output of these websites. Laura will explore the best ways to monitor and react to this unregulated form of media and how to form a strategy to cope in a crisis.

Thirdly in “What lurks beneath” Dan Marshall, Commercial Director, will be discussing how to use news and business information to uncover hidden global risks. The latest business intelligence technology will be on display and Dan will be demonstrating how this can help companies protect themselves from threats to operations and supply chain.

Bob De Laney said: “The Online Information exhibition and conference attracts information professionals from world class organisations and we are looking forward to sharing our insights and gaining feedback on the latest developments in the industry. As part of the event LexisNexis particularly wants to discover attendees’ views on the rise of social media and online information to assess its impact on the communications industry as a whole.  We are therefore launching a survey to complement our consumer research - visit us at stand 260 if you want to take part.”

LexisNexis has recently conducted research examining consumer perceptions of the value and credibility of online information which will complement the survey of information professionals being launched at the event.

In addition to its active involvement in the conference agenda LexisNexis will be showcasing its full range of products including the Nexis Business Intelligence portfolio, Analytics, the NexisDirect research tool, and its new solution, Supply Risk Monitor. Demonstrations of Supply Risk Monitor will highlight the importance of monitoring and responding to risks in the supply chain that may threaten an organisation’s financial standing or reputation.
