Librarians and Information Professionals

In this section of the website, we have brought together a range of materials from LexisNexis that librarians will find useful in managing their relationship with LexisNexis and the products and services that we are supplying to the UK Academic market.

Academic User Group meetings
LexisNexis is always interested to hear what customers have to say about its products and levels of service, as well keeping customers informed of new developments. To that end, we hold two Academic User Group meetings a year, in April and November. If you would like to find out more about these meetings and read the presentations and minutes from previous events, please go to the Academic User Group website.

Linking to LexisNexis resources
The enhanced functionality of the new LexisNexis online services allows users to be able to build links to individual pieces of content and individual sources within the databases. The LexisNexis LinkDirectPlus tool allows users to build links to individual journal articles, law reports and pieces of legislation from the United Kingdom as well as links to UK journals and UK newspapers. We are also working with the major vendors of academic library management systems (including Serials Solutions and Ex Libris) to provide them with the linking syntax to all the sources available to customers subscribing to LexisNexis Butterworths. If customers wish to build these links for themselves, please click on the following links: UK cases, UK journals, UK bulletins and UK newspapers. You will be provided with content information including coverage information and ISSNs where relevant. We can also supply customers with links to international materials on request.

Account Managers
LexisNexis has five dedicated Account Managers for the Academic market in the UK and Ireland. They are responsible for managing all aspects of academic accounts, including arranging the purchase of, or setting up a trial for, one of the LexisNexis® Services, or for information on prices, technical requirements and network licence agreements. Please contact your Academic Account Manager for further details.

Academic Training Team
LexisNexis also has three dedicated Academic trainers who are available to provide staff and students with free training on all aspects of the LexisNexis online product portfolio. The team will provide training at a time to suit you and can provide training for range of group sizes, from small groups of 10-20 to large lecture groups of 100-200.
