Electronic filing and communications
LexisPSL Dispute Resolution practice note about Electronic filling and communications
E-working is something very much at the forefront at the moment given the introduction of an e-filing pilot scheme in Rolls Building Courts and the implementation of the revised provisions under CPR PD 5B (referred to above). These recent developments are the result of a long-standing recognition that an effective IT system in the courts is essential for cases to be processed efficiently and expediently.
This Practice Note considers electronic working (e-working), both in terms of how it has developed and by reference to the various circumstances in which it can apply. The Practice Note also offers practical guidance in bringing County Court Money Claims (CCMCs), making electronic applications in the TCC Central London County Court as well as general guidance in emailing and filing documents electronically under CPR Practice Direction 5B.
