LexisNexis Launches LexisMentor E-Learning Solution
LexisMentor Provides Online and On-Demand Training for Junior Lawyers
LONDON, 1 November 2010 - LexisNexis UK (www.lexisnexis.co.uk), a leading provider of content-enabled workflow solutions and legal, tax and business information, today announced the launch of Lexis®Mentor - a new e-learning product to provide junior lawyers with practical and applicable training anywhere and anytime they need it.
LexisMentor is designed to tackle the challenges faced by lawyers in their first four years of practice post qualification, and is available to users around the clock, ensuring expert instruction is available at the point and time of need. LexisMentor reduces the requirement for face-to-face training and supervision, and enables junior lawyers to accelerate their skills development and quicken their progress onto higher value work.
Initially, LexisMentor will focus on dispute resolution, covering the key topics with twelve individual sixty-minute learning modules. These modules are designed to facilitate the immediate application of skills in practice. Each module contains forty-five minutes of learning content and fifteen minutes of assessment content. Upon successful completion of the assessment, lawyers will be awarded one accredited Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hour.
The e-learning modules are highly practical and can be completed in any order. They deliver cost-effective learning support to address those everyday tasks and processes that typically cause junior lawyers problems. LexisMentor has been produced by qualified lawyers, each with more than 10 years of experience, and is designed to close the gap between training and work. Case studies, checklists, tactics and practical tips ensure it is a highly effective learning tool, and because it is continually updated, it provides ongoing development. Video interviews with senior practitioners provide further expert insight to guide junior lawyers.
Rob Farquharson, Director of Connect at LexisNexis UK, said: "LexisMentor addresses the need to accelerate and re-enforce the learning of junior lawyers. Recognising that there is a limit to how much time they can spend in the classroom and considering the fact that a senior colleague can't always be on-hand to advise them, LexisMentor provides a relevant and accessible solution."
LexisMentor is a key component of the Lexis®Learning solution which combines conferences, courses, webinars, and in-house training to create a blended package. LexisLearning packages can be designed to meet the training requirements of any firm in a cost-effective manner.
