LexisNexis Announces ‘Preferred Licensing Partnership’ Deal with Hart Publishing

Seven new full text journals to be added to LexisLibrary from specialist publisher

LONDON, 17 January 2013 – LexisNexis UK (www.lexisnexis.co.uk), a leading provider of content and technology solutions, today announced that it is continuing to respond to customer requests for additional journal content by entering into a preferred licensing partnership with Hart Publishing. The deal will see the addition of seven new full text journal titles to the industry’s most extensive and authoritative source of essential legal information online: Lexis®Library.

The deal follows a comprehensive consultation that LexisNexis conducted with its customers across law firms, the Bar and academic institutions in order to better understand their requirements. Customers were clear that they required access to academic and practical information. They also expressed a preference for being able to access everything in one place. The deal forms a critical part of creating a resource that meets the needs of customers.

Christian Fleck, LexisNexis UK managing director, commented: “Our agreement with Hart Publishing is part of an ongoing strategy to ensure that we provide our customers with the most authoritative and comprehensive collection of journals in the U.K. legal market, via LexisLibrary and Lexis®PSL. We’re excited to be working with Hart, whose journals are not only authoritative but also meets the needs of front-line practitioners.”

The new additions are available immediately.

Richard Hart, managing director of Hart Publishing, added: “We’ve been seeking a collaboration with LexisNexis for some time now and are delighted to have reached an agreement, which will mean that more practitioners, students and scholars than ever will have access to our journals. We feel that LexisNexis content is unique and of the highest value. It is therefore an obvious step to make this content available to LexisLibrary customers.”

The journals that have been added are: Law and Financial Markets Review, European Competition Journal, Journal of Corporate Law Studies, Legal Ethics, Journal of Media Law, Journal of Private International Law and Judicial Review.
