As Managing Director for LexisNexis UK & Ireland, Christian Fleck is responsible for leading the 1,000+ person organisation and ensuring the growth and delivery of the Legal, Tax and Business Intelligence propositions, along with the portfolio of Enterprise Solutions. Prior to becoming the UK & Ireland Managing Director, Christian Fleck held a range of senior positions at LexisNexis in the US, Europe and Latin America. Most recently, he led LexisNexis Germany and Central and Eastern Europe, where he significantly upgraded the profitability of the region throughout the challenging 2008-10 economy and led the divestiture of some of the group’s German assets. In his previous role, he managed LexisNexis Mexico through a turnaround driven by top line growth acceleration and adjacent market expansion. Prior to this, Christian held positions as Strategy and Development Director for Europe, Africa and Latin America, and Global Strategy and Business Development Manager.
Prior to LexisNexis
Before joining LexisNexis in 2002, Christian worked as a Strategy Consultant at Monitor Company leading projects in the entertainment, technology and services sectors. In his early career, he trained in finance at Warburg Bank with subsequent experiences at Deutsche Bank and HSBC. Christian holds both an MBA from Tulane University and a graduate business degree from Handelshochschule Leipzig in Germany.
Aneil Rakity

Current Responsibilities
Aneil Rakity leads Strategic Marketing along with the programme to ensure our front and back-office capabilities remain able to meet the rapidly changing needs of our customers over the coming years. The Strategic Marketing team is responsible for developing compelling value propositions that resonate with customers, setting how we "go-to-market" and ensuring that the market is aware of and understands our Legal, Tax and Business Intelligence portfolios.

Aneil was a management consultant with McKinsey & Company and Accenture in Europe and the United States where he worked with clients across a range of industries including media & entertainment, technology, FMCG and financial services. He holds an MBA from The Wharton Business School.

Aneil enjoys spending time with his family and can be regularly found with his two young sons exploring the parks of London.
Wai-Fung Thompson
Joint Commercial Management Director

Current Responsibilities
Wai-Fung Thompson leads our Commercial Management function. This is responsible for the growth of our business to all UK law firms (outside of the largest 500 firms), barrister chambers, and all tax & accountancy firms. The team deploys a blended channel marketing approach which includes sales, direct marketing, telemarketing, partnerships and e-business combined with deep customer insights and data analytics to develop and deliver the right propositions to the right customers at the right time.
Experience prior to LexisNexis
Wai-Fung read English and Education at Emmanuel College and Homerton College, Cambridge and enjoyed employment as a teacher before embarking on a career in sales. She has lead sales teams in the Financial Times (Pearson), Interactive Data Corporation, Standard and Poor's (McGraw Hill) and Egg Bank (Prudential).
Hobbies/Areas of Interest outside of work
Wai-Fung is an enthusiastic skier and gymnastics club coach and enjoys life in the country with her family.
Andy Marshall
Account Management Sales Director

Current Responsibilities
Andy Marshall leads our Account Management Sales Teams across the UK Top 300 legal firms, Corporate markets, Public Sector, Trade, Academic, Export and Ireland. He is also General Manager for the emerging Lexis Nexis Middle East business as well as for Martindale Hubbell International. His teams are responsible for maintaining relationships with our large clients, delivering revenue growth and driving penetration of our new products and solutions. The teams deliver superior customer experience through structured client management relationships as well as providing the right propositions to customers by drawing together client insights, internal resources and key stakeholders from across our business.

Andy has held a wide range of sales and management positions at Sainsburys, Coca-Cola and most recently as a General Manager with Energis, where he was part of the management team that transformed the ailing Telecoms operator, culminating in a £900m trade sale to Cable and Wireless.

Andy is a keen golfer and cyclist and is married with two young sons.
Chris Jones
Director of Tax Markets & Learning Solutions

Current Responsibilities
Chris leads the tax and learning businesses at LexisNexis and has overall responsibility for everything the company delivers under the eminent Tolley brand. His responsibilities include setting and driving the key strategies for Tolley Tax Intelligence, which includes the in-depth research tool TolleyLibrary, practical guidance tool TolleyGuidance, exam & CPD training under TolleyLearning as well as working closely with editors of the tax magazines, Taxation and Tax Journal collectively known as TolleyInsight. In addition, Chris also leads the learning function on the legal side of the business, which goes to market under the LexisLearning moniker.
Experience prior to LexisNexis
Chris started his career with PKF (UK) LLP and trained as Chartered Tax Adviser in 1994. He acted for a wide range of owner-managed businesses, high net worth individuals and PLCs. He then moved into the world of Professional Education training students to pass the ATT & CTA exams as a tutor at BPP. In 1998 Chris became a freelance CPD lecturer and over the years has built up an excellent reputation for his lively, fast-paced and focused presentations. He continues to lecture on the Tolley programme as well as for the CIOT where he chairs their Conferences Working Party.
Hobbies/Areas of interest outside of work
Chris joined the Council of the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT) in 2004 and the Council of the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) in 2007. He is also a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Tax Advisers. Chris also acts for a portfolio of OMB clients through his directorship in CJP Taxation, a firm of Chartered Tax Advisers based on the south coast. Despite his extensive working commitments Chris enjoys travelling the world and doing his best to keep fit!
Nick West
Director of Legal Markets

Current responsibilities
As Director of Legal Markets, Nick leads LexisNexis's business in the legal market, serving law firms, legal practitioners and in-house legal departments. He is responsible for delivering LexisNexis's Legal Intelligence offering, comprising practical guidance (LexisPSL), deep research (LexisLibrary), webinars and conferences (LexisLearning) and technology applications for lawyers (LexisSmart, LexisCheck).
Prior experience
Nick qualified as a Solicitor, completing his training contract with Linklaters. He practised as a Competition Lawyer in London and Brussels, with a primary focus on EU and UK merger control work for large corporate clients conducting M&A transactions. Post-Linklaters, Nick worked for McKinsey & Company, the strategy consulting firm, where he advised corporate and public-sector clients on strategy. He joined LexisNexis in 2006 and prior to his current role, worked as Head of Strategy and M&A for LexisNexis International in London and Head of Strategy for LexisNexis US in New York.

Nick spends much of his time outside the office with his young family. He is a keen cook and sports fan.
Tim Cheadle

Current Responsibilities
Tim Cheadle leads the LexisNexis Enterprise Solutions business with a focus on expanding the company's position as a leading integrated solutions provider to the legal, corporate and government markets. Responsible for Practice Management & Client Development solutions, his team works to address the total needs of a business, not just individual departments, helping them to streamline, increase productivity and efficiency. Enterprise Solutions is focused on developing industry leading processes that anticipate and accommodate new legislative and best practice changes across legal, tax and compliance related workflows, Business Intelligence and CRM applications.

Prior to LexisNexis, Tim previously served as Director of Product Solutions at Micro Focus where he lead the product management and solutions organisation across a large software portfolio; has also run his own hi-tech consultancy, and held a variety of senior positions at FormScape Software and at Imation Corp. He has a BSC in Business Administration and Political Sciences from Aston University.

Andy Sparkes
Director of Strategy and New Business Development

Current responsibilities
As Director of Strategy and New Business Development, Andy is responsible for developing the LexisNexis UK & Ireland strategy, and leading a new business portfolio that involves identifying, executing and growing new streams of revenue. The new business portfolio includes our market-leading document automation capabilities (LexisSmart), our legislation and case citation checking tool (LexisCheck) and a series of emerging offerings designed to help improve productivity within our customers. Andy also oversees our activity in both the compliance and corporate counsel arenas.
Prior experience
Andy was previously a Partner at OC&C Strategy Consultants, where he helped build the firm's media, technology and entertainment strategy practice to the largest in London. He has advised clients across a range of industries including financial services, retail, FMCG, telecoms and private equity. Andy has particular interest and experience in identifying and driving growth in new ventures and adjacent areas, with hands-on experience in helping to grow a digital media start-up.

Outside work, Andy enjoys most sports - although increasingly as a spectator - and spends much of his spare time with his young family.
Alex Sage

Current Responsibilities
Alex Sage is responsible for all aspects of Finance for LexisNexis' UK which includes Butterworths, Tolley, Visualfiles and LexisNexis News & Business brands. Alex's team comprises around 70 people. Alex's focus is on making Finance a real business partner, and providing the company with insightful decision support and analysis to support business goals and drive financial performance. In the UK, LexisNexis is the leading provider of client development, research, productivity management and compliance services to legal, tax and other knowledge-driven professionals.
Experience prior to LexisNexis
Alex is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales having qualified with Arthur Andersen within the audit practice. Alex has worked in several Finance roles within the media industry since qualification in 1997.
Prior to his roles at LexisNexis, Alex worked in several Finance based roles at Reuters PLC, latterly in the Enterprise division supporting the acquisition of several businesses in the market research and company information sectors.
Hobbies/Areas of interest outside of work
Alex enjoys running (mainly 10km / half marathons) and practices the art of campanology.
Laurie Hibbs
HR Director

Current responsibilities
Laurie is responsible for the development and implementation of the People Strategy for LexisNexis UK and, in addition, the delivery of HR services; including recruitment through to payroll and learning & development. He also manages the team of HR Business Partners who support the various departments of LN UK.
Experience prior to LexisNexis
Laurie studied Accountancy & Finance achieving sponsorship from Esso in his final year where he then commenced post graduate life at the Fawley Refinery. In years to follow, Laurie worked at Siemens and Lucent Technologies, followed by a lengthy spell in Financial Services managing teams in Europe, America and India. More recently Laurie has lived and worked in Australia for the Fosters Group before returning to the UK to head an HR transformation for a Not For Profit organisation.

Laurie spends most of his spare time with his young family, his other hobbies include kite-boarding, mountain biking and karate.
